You asked for them, so here they are! Our new “Creepy Kanzashi” hair clips were such a hit in our Facebook sneak peek update that we got 2 custom orders that day! You guys always have a way of making us feel like our work is appreciated, and we love you all for it! <3
What are kanzashi? Kanzashi are traditional Japanese hair ornaments, dating back as far as the Jomon period. Geisha were even known to wear a different kanzashi for each month of the year. We have adapted the traditional ‘tsumami’ technique for making our hana-style creepy kanzashi, which involves folding each individual petal from pieces of cloth and then assembling them into the desired flower shape. Of course, we here at Lilly Inverse Designs can’t do anything completely traditional and pretty…
Our first “Creepy Kanzashi” hair ornaments are the much-requested tentacle kanzashi, sporting a creepy eyeball centerpiece. Since each tentacle kanzashi is custom made by hand, you are able to choose the color of the centerpiece, 2 colors for the petals of the flowers (inner and outer), and of course the color of the tentacles and spots. The creepy kanzashi pictured are our general green tentacles with purple spots, but feel free to go wild and choose any colors you want! If you would like more colors than just the 4, feel free to email us at LillyInverse@Gmail.com and we can work something out.
